Frequently Asked Questions
What is HydraFacial?
HydraFacial MD® is the latest technological advance in non-laser resurfacing. It is a non-invasive, multi-step treatment that combines the benefits of next-level hydradermabrasion, a chemical peel, automated painless extractions (no pinching!) and a special delivery of Antioxidants, Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides. It does all of this in one quick treatment that delivers real results without downtime or irritation.
What results can I expect?
Significant results can be obtained with HydraFacial and you will notice measurable results after the first treatment; however, depending on the individual, it may take a few days to realize the full result, as the skin rejuvenation process begins. Every individual's skin type and condition is unique, so a comprehensive skin and lifestyle evaluation is necessary to determine individual expectations and number of treatments.
How long will the results last?
The HydraFacial philosophy is "Skin Health For Life". The treatment is an unquestionably effective skin rejuvenation treatment which produces noticeably smoothed, even-toned, hydrated skin in just one session; however, continued sessions and proper home care produce longer term benefits.
What is Home Care and why is it Important?
Home Care (meaning: how you care for your skin at home) is the very foundation of your skin health routine. No matter what your skin type, you can spend as much as you want on anti-aging/acne procedures and treatments; but, if you're stripping your skin with incorrect cleansers, abrasive exfoliators and insufficient/incorrect moisturizers, your skin will reflect negative results and you literally inhibit the rejuvenation process.
Proper skincare doesn't have to be complicated, it just has to be Correct!
How long is the HydraFacial Treatment?
The HydraFacial treatment process is 20-30 minutes on average, depending on the size of the area being treated, as well as the addition of Treatment Boosters (which are additional targeted measures); such as:
DermalBuilder (for lines and wrinkles),
Britenol (for Dark Spots)
Growth Factor (with Stem Cells for which aids in Tissue Regeneration)
And YES!!...You can do it on your lunch break!!
Does the HydraFacial Treatment hurt?
It doesn't. Most people describe it as feeling like a cat's tongue moving across the skin.
Is there any down time?
There is no downtime after the HydraFacial treatment and you can apply make-up right after; HOWEVER, sun protection is a must, and will be applied after the proper serums and moisturizer, at the end of your treatment. We highly recommend that you wear a minimum of a 30spf every day, to protect your skin from the invisible damage of UV rays.
Can I do it before my Wedding or Special Event?
Yes! At your initial appointment we will evaluate your skin and lifestyle (i.e.- do you spend time working/playing in the sun?) and will determine a treatment regimen that will provide the best results. It's always best to prepare ahead of time, so if multiple treatment series are recommended, you'll have time to obtain even better results.
Is HydraFacial JUST for Hydration?
No, HydraFacial also effectively addresses:
-Dark Spots (hyper-pigmentation)
-Congested/Acneic Skin
-Lines and Wrinkles
-Slack/Dull/Lackluster Skin
-Rosacea
-Skin that is not suited for Microdermabrasion or Chemical Peels
What is LED Light Therapy?
LED Red Light Therapy was originally developed by NASA for wound healing for astronauts. Yes, it really was. Results from red light therapy have been thoroughly researched, FDA approved, and found to be extremely effective for anti-aging and wound healing applications, which is highly beneficial after advanced exfoliation treatments . When the LED light is absorbed in the skin, it stimulates:
-Increased circulation and the formation of new capillaries.
-Increased lymph system activity (flushing of toxins)
-Increased production of collagen, elastin and fibroblasts (fibroblasts are good!)
-Increased release of raw cellular energy.
-Increased cellular clean up.
-Reduction of inflammation
Different colors of LED Therapy Lights exist, such as Blue, which has been proven to be effective in killing the p. bacterium commonly found in acneic skin.
Is HydraFacial the same as MicroDermabrasion?
They are not the same. Unlike regular microdermabrasion, HydraFacial can be done on all skin types, including very sensitive skin, rosacea and skin with broken capillaries, through skilled professionals. The HydraFacial's unique Vortex-Fusion serum delivery system is what sets the HydraFacial MD apart from the Microdermabrasion. This multi-step treatment cleanses, evenly exfoliates and extracts to remove impurities and dead skin cells while at the same time replenishing vital nutrients including Antioxidants, Peptides and Hyaluronic Acid. This superior delivery system delivers these ingredients to the skin to effectively help improve environmental damage, reduce fine lines & wrinkles, and plump & firm skin for long-term results you can see instantly.
What about Dermal Fillers?
If you've recently had dermal fillers, we recommend you wait a minimum of 10-14 days before receiving a HydraFacial treatment, so as not to disturb the placement of your fillers. If you have any concerns about receiving HydraFacial treatment before or after dermal fillers, please talk to your physician prior to scheduling your HydraFacial appointment.
What if I'm being treated by a Doctor or Dermatologist for a skin condition?
We do not interfere with any medical protocol between physicians and patients. If you are under the care of a physician for a skin condition, you should ask your physician about whether or not the HydraFacial is acceptable for you to receive, while you are under their care.
Are there any Allergy Precautions?
If you have any of the following allergies, it doesn't automatically mean you're not a candidate. Please list this information on your Client Information Sheet, so that we may adjust your treatment accordingly:
-Shellfish
-Aspirin
-Sugar (diabetes)
